To do a parasite cleanse you usually will need to ingest a concoction of black walnut hull, male fern root, clove, and wormwood. This concoction will cause a unpleasant and unlivable environment for the organisms which will cause them to depart your from your body.

When you decide to do a  detox cleanse, you want to find one that works in synchronization with your body to cause a natural discharge of poisons and toxins. Your goal is to feel refreshed and revitalized when you are done with the cleanse. It is highly recommended by many alternative medicine practitioners that you cleanse using simple organic ingredients so you do not bring more toxins into your system in the midst of your cleanse that would contradict the healing process.

Many of my health coaching clients get excited about doing a fruit and vegetable diet cleanse after I show them how to lose weight fast and safe.

I did a fruit and vegetable diet cleanse and lost 13 pounds in 14 days and then continued the cleanse for a few more weeks and when I was done I had lost 23 pounds in 6 weeks. The entire time I did the cleanse I ate a lot of great nutritious food and I was never hungry. I did not feel deprived.

However, the question I get over and over from my coaching clients is "Does the weight just come right back after you do a cleanse?"

Here is the hard honest truth – if you go back to your bad eating habits… of course the weight will come back on – your weight is due to "cause and effect." If you overeat (take in more calories than you burn up each day) you will gain weight.

So my answer is NO – the weight will NOT just come right back if you change your eating habits and choose to eat low calorie highly nutritious foods as the majority of your diet. That does not mean I don't have some fun splurges (and I have them nearly every day!) — the key is that I have found some really healthy splurges that satisfy my sweet tooth and also give nutrition to my body. Believe me, there are some wonderful healthy treats out there – you do not have to eat processed foods, refined sugars and junk foods to satisfy cravings any more.

The way I eat now helps me feel so good, keeps me slim and sexy, and enables me to have the energy to accomplish everything each busy day with ease. You can do it too!

Yes, I really did lose 13 pounds in 14 days – and then I went on to lose 10 more pounds in the following 4 weeks for a total of 23 pounds in 6 weeks.

And the most amazing thing was that I was never hungry. I ate whenever I wanted to. I was comfortably full. I never felt deprived. And I found out that there are unlimited amazing combinations of fresh fruits and vegetables that create very tasty treats.

Sick of feeling fat? Are you tired of your clothes feeling tight and uncomfortable?

I don't know if you have ever been at the end of your rope when it comes to weight but that is where I was.

I was fed up and frustrated with my weight – AGAIN!

I had gained a bunch of weight during a stressful period of several months because I had used food to deal with my anxiety.  Sound familiar?

So here I was – feeling fat and miserable and wearing the last pair of my stretchy pants that still fit and I was not about to go buy larger clothes!

I had dieted on and off for years. I had done the Atkins, the calorie counting diets, the "prepared meals" diets like Nutrisystem and Diet Delivery plans, and pretty much every diet that has come down the pike – I had given it my best shot.

And to tell you the truth I had lost lots of weight over the years - many of these diets really do work in the short term to create a loss of weight. But the bummer is that these diets were not the way I wanted to eat for the rest of my life and so after the weight loss I would go off the diet and gain the weight back. I was sick of the weight loss / weight gain roller coaster.

So here I was frustrated and feeling fat AGAIN and not willing to go back to the typical diets I had done before. I decided to try something that was radical for me.

Which Detox Diet is right for you?

I don’t know about you but it seems like everywhere I turn there is a ton of information about detox diets on television, in magazines, and in the news.

Why do a fruit and vegetable cleanse detox diet?

Well for me it was a combination of several things. Maybe you can relate to a few of my reasons to give a detox cleanse a try.

-I had gained some weight due to some stress eating and I wanted those pounds gone fast!

-I was feeling lethargic rather than energetic in the morning. This could have been due to my stress eating at night and I wanted to stop that bad trend.

-I just felt more ache-y in my body. Hey, I know I am getting older but overall I just did not feel healthy and vibrant.

For the three reasons above I decided to embark on a detox diet cleanse and see if I could turn my low energy, "not feeling healthy," getting super pudgy body around. Sounds like a tall order right? I thought so too.

Now I realize that doing a detoxing or cleansing diet  for a few days will not turn around months or years of living a less than healthy lifestyle. What I hoped, however, was that it would help me "shock" my system back into submission and get me headed in a more healthy direction and of course I wanted to lose some pounds at the same time.

I decided to do a 14 day fruit and vegetable cleanse.

What I liked about it was that I could eat basically all that I cared to eat (so I would not be hungry) – the catch was that whatever I ate had be only fruits and vegetables. And the fruits and veggies had to be RAW – no cooking for 14 days.  That may sound drastic, but let me tell you it was not as hard as I thought it would be. I followed through with the entire 14 days and I was not hungry the entire time. I even came up with some pretty creative and tasty raw fruit and vegetable dishes that I still like to eat to this day.

What was my result after 14 days?

I lost 13 pounds and that totally rocked! I felt a lot more energetic – probably because I cleansed out quite a bit of junk from my body's system. And overall my body just felt better.  I am a true believer when it comes to detox diets now. I think if you are doing the right one for you – you can't go wrong and the results are pretty cool.

Fruit and Vegetable Cleanse are really gaining in popularity as a way to accomplish very fast weight loss!

After a particularly stressful winter I had packed on some unwanted unsightly pounds that I wanted gone quick.
